Our Mid-Year Reception intake gives your child a gentle introduction to school life, enabling girls to complete their foundational year over six terms, rather than the traditional four. Mid-Year Reception is open to children who turn five years on or before October 31^, 2024. Beginning Reception mid-year at SAC gives students a great beginning to their schooling, enabling them to ease into their new environment at a gentle pace.

The dynamic Mid-Year Reception program begins with SAC Transition in June. Through our vibrant and welcoming SAC Transition Program, students beginning Reception mid-year can enjoy specialised activities in small classes. SAC’s Sisters in Action (SiA) program is a unique program connects Receptions with two Year 6 buddies. They bond over activities in the classroom that help Receptions to build foundational skills in core learning areas, but the Year 6 students are also friends that the Receptions can reach out to in the school yard. Although it is a formal school program, SiA Sisters enables the growth of genuine connections and friendships that are carried into later schooling years.

EARLY LEARNING CENTRE

As part of the College campus, children at Chancery Lane have the opportunity to utilise the College facilities and visit the school library as well as being involved in College activity days throughout the year including Book Week, Mercy Day Carnival and our Primary Christmas concert. This interaction with the wider College community allows the young girls joining us in Reception to familiarise themselves with our environment.

RECEPTION TRANSITION PROGRAM

We share your excitement as your daughter embarks on her first schooling experience here with us at St Aloysius College.

Each June and November, the SAC Transition Program supports you and your daughter to develop a sense of belonging in our community, while gently introducing some of the routines of school. The program reflects our commitment to developing and nurturing authentic relationships and incorporates:

• Three sessions over three weeks
• Meaningful and intentional learning projects
• Transition sessions facilitated by Reception teachers for continuity
• Visits with specialist teachers in wider school facilities
• An information session for families with insights of student experiences

We encourage you to join us on a School Tour to visit the College on an ordinary school day and meet our students and staff.
